Access Control

Secure Your Premises With Intelligent Access Management — Built on UniFi Access

Controlling who enters your space, when, and through which door is foundational security. UniFi Access brings card readers, intercoms, mobile credentials, and door hardware into a single system that integrates cleanly with your network and surveillance.

NuSI deploys UniFi Access for businesses that want enterprise-grade access control without the enterprise-grade subscription bill.

  • Granular Permissions — Different access levels for staff, contractors, and visitors. Time-of-day restrictions, door groups, and temporary credentials are all standard.
  • Real-Time Alerts — Get notified on forced entries, propped doors, or attempted access to restricted zones.
  • Audit Trails — Every entry attempt is logged and searchable, with timestamps and credential details, so investigations don't require a forensic deep dive.
  • Flexible Credentials — Cards, fobs, mobile credentials via the UniFi Identity app, PINs, or biometrics — pick what fits your culture and security posture.
  • One Dashboard — Door schedules, user permissions, and alerts live in the same console as your network and cameras.
  • Grows With You — Start with one door or a hundred. UniFi Access scales without forcing a re-architect.
  • No Per-Door Licensing — UniFi Access doesn't charge recurring license fees per door for core functionality.
  • Reliable Operation — Door hubs maintain local credential caches, so doors keep working through brief network or controller outages.
  • Easy Day-to-Day — Adding a new hire, deactivating a departed one, or issuing a contractor a 3-day credential takes a few clicks.

Frequently Asked Questions

UniFi Access integrates most cleanly with a UniFi network — single sign-on, traffic prioritization, and the unified console all assume that environment. We strongly recommend deploying together.

Core UniFi Access functionality doesn't require a subscription. Some advanced features (like cloud-based identity integrations) may have associated costs, and our optional managed services are billed monthly. We'll lay out what's required vs. optional before you commit.

Yes. The system is designed to expand. Add hubs, doors, and sites without replacing what you've already deployed.

Door hubs operate locally with cached credentials, so a network outage doesn't lock everyone out. We can also spec battery backup for critical entries.

Easy. Create a profile, assign permissions, issue a credential — usually under a minute. Visitor passes can be time-bound automatically.

Yes. UniFi Access pairs with UniFi Protect to show you live video of who's at the door, and with UniFi Talk so door and intercom calls can ring your business phones — all from one interface.
